Attempted Carjacking Downtown, Police seeking info #yyj @VicpdCanada

Victoria BC – A Victoria senior was thrown to the ground in an attempted carjacking that occurred downtown on Friday night.

The attempted carjacking occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. when the woman was parking her car on the west side of Vancouver Street, between Johnson Street and Pandora Avenue.

When the woman was exiting her car and opened the driver’s door, the suspect pulled her from the vehicle and threw her to ground. The suspect attempted to steal the car, but could not get it started and then fled.

The suspect is described as white or possibly first nations man, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11 inches tall with dark eyes and short cropped hair. At the time of the attempted carjacking he was wearing a grey toque, a black leather jacket over a black sweatshirt and grey pants.

The victim was uninjured but quite shaken by the event.
