Children to Help Us Improve Playgrounds at Two Victoria Parks
Tuesday, October 23, 2012
VICTORIA, BC — Children, bring your parents to an open house in November to learn more and “show and tell” City Parks staff what type of playground equipment you’d like to see at Fern Street Park and Wark Street Park. In 2013, the City of Victoria will upgrade the aging playground equipment at these two parks to meet national safety standards and to better meet the needs of the community.
The Fern Street Park playground is located between Begbie and Fort Streets in the Jubilee neighbourhood. The Wark Street Park playground is located at the corner of Wark Street and Kings Road near the Blanshard Community Centre.
Parents and children, take the opportunity to view displays and place stickers next to your favourite play equipment; draw your vision for the play area; meet Parks planners and ask questions; suggest park improvements for the enjoyment of the community, and complete a short survey.
