Cold Weather Clothing & Donation Drive in support of @AIDSVanIsle Oct 28 #yyj

How does one build community wealth by fostering community health? By creatively and compassionately pooling our resources.

On Sunday Oct. 28th, 10am-2pm, the Heart & Hands Health Collective will host an open house providing FREE Community Acupuncture sessions upon donation of cold weather clothing and/or a minimum $5 donation.

All proceeds and clothing go to their community partner AIDS Vancouver Island (AVI). AVI serves the needs of people infected and affected by HIV and hepatitis C.

“It's volunteers like Christina who make the time to compassionately and steadfastly share her valuable time and skills in support of our clients and this makes all the difference. As the winter season approaches its collection efforts like these that save many lives on the street.” says Shane Calder, AVI Street Educator.

“We are always thrilled when community partners like Heart & Hands Health Collective take the time to support marginalized members of our community and give back in a meaningful way” continued Shane.

Heart & Hands is part of a growing network of 200+ clinics internationally dedicated to providing acupuncture using a unique and inclusive treatment model. The Collective actively collaborates with other local businesses, agencies and organizations including AIDS Vancouver Island, SOLID, Community Microlending, Cool Aid Society, Victoria Youth Homelessness Summit and Project Connect.

“Heart & Hands empowers each person to take an active role in their well-being and has created a much-needed, thriving space to make health and healing possible for everyone. Heart & Hands is the future of health care.” - Rosalyn, Heart & Hands client

“To watch people taking responsibility for their health is a great reminder that community spaces like here are part of the (solution).”

-Matt, Heart & Hands Volunteer
