Goward House Society presents Dimensions paintings Oct 26-Nov 21 #yyj

Dimensions, Goward House Society

October 26—November 21, 2012

Carron Berkes and Toni Micol are local artists and long-time friends. Together, they have journeyed throughout southern Vancouver Island and beyond in search of delightful scenic places to sketch and paint.

Their art exhibition, Dimensions at Goward House Society, running from October 26 to November 21, 2012, reflects their creative inner inspirations and painterly journeys to the many marvellous places they have been.

Dimensions features landscape, wildlife, still life and abstract paintings in acrylic, watercolour and mixed media. As part of her body of work, Carron Berkes will show a new series entitled Endangered:
land animals, aquatic creatures and birds whose existence is threatened. Toni Micol will show recent abstract paintings inspired by music, movement and colour.

Free Admission. Suitable for all ages and family members.

Carron Berkes is a Victoria artist who enjoys painting, sculpture and photography. Working as a multi-media visual artist in painting (acrylics and watercolours), mixed media, recycled art and found objects, her many colourful themes include the natural world (plants, animals and landscapes), abstraction, figurative and whimsical, creative narratives.

Toni Micol was born in London, England where she studied art and design. Several years working in the London fashion business influenced her love of colour and form. Having travelled extensively in Europe, Toni’s work is also influenced by the landscapes of Italy, Spain and France. Some of her impressionistic paintings have been exhibited in London. Since moving to Victoria, Toni has been influenced by the magnificent West Coast scenery and now enjoys using these images to create abstract concepts in addition to her earlier styles.

Opening Reception: Sunday, November 4th, 1:30 – 3:30PM. Artists will be in attendance.

Concurrent to Dimensions, there will be a Craft Fair at Goward House, Saturday and Sunday, November 17th & 18th, 10-4PM.
